What’s in a name?
1954: Founded in Rosemead, California as Universal Savings and Loan Association.
1984: The name was changed to Universal Savings Bank.
1992: After approval from our regulator (the Office of Thrift Supervision), Universal Bank becomes a Federal Savings Bank. Its name becomes Universal Bank F.S.B.
1996: By Board and Shareholder approval, the name change to Universal Bank is made.
But whatever the name, one thing has remained a constant since its inception; Universal Bank remains a stable and financially sound institution. Customers remain with us year after year. We are proud to provide our customers with excellent customer service and the solutions that best fit their financial needs.
